Part I: Beginning third of the form, from Raise Hands to Diagonal Single Whip.
Part II: Middle third of the form, from Diagonal Single Whip to Bend and Punch.
Part III: Final third of the form, from Bend and Punch to Conclusion.
Form Review: Review of the Tai Chi Form.
Advanced Form Practice: Continued Tai Chi practice for those who have completed the Tai Chi Form, includes meditation and Chi Kung.
Weapons Class: Sabre and Long Sword Form class for those who have completed the Tai Chi Form.
Pushing Hands: Beginners through Advanced students.

Tai Chi Form Class Start Dates

Beginner Tai Chi Form Classes at the Main Center in Meriden start at different times during the year. New class information can be found on the News page, or contact the school for dates and information.

Tai Chi Weapons

The requirement for enrolling in weapons classes is completion of a Tai Chi Empty Hand Form. Currently, the Long Sword and Sabre (Broadsword) Forms are offered.

  • Long Sword: Begins 1st week of May, Tuesday 6:30 p.m.
  • Sabre (Broadsword): Begins 1st week of October, Tuesday 6:30 p.m.

Pushing Hands

The Pushing Hands Class is ongoing, meeting every Tuesday evening at 8:00 p.m.

Private Sessions

Private sessions are available by appointment.

Branch Programs

Tai Chi classes, run in ten-week and 12-week sessions, are also offered at various Connecticut locations. Please contact us for schedule information and times.

  • Higganum: St. James Church Hall, Route 81 (Rte. 9, exit 9)
  • Wallingford: Park and Recreation, 6 Fairfield Blvd.

Weekend Workshops

Weekend workshops, featuring Tai Chi Masters and guest instructors, on various topics in Tai Chi are offered throughout the year. Please contact us for topic and schedule information.

Quinnipiac University Program

Tai Chi classes for college credit are also offered at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut, through the Department of Physical Education. Please contact the college scheduling office, or CCTCC, for complete information.

Instructors

All Tai Chi classes are taught by David Ritchie, CCTCC-Certified Instructors, and Qualified Assistant Instructors.
