Persons interested in joining the Canton Center Church or interested in exploring the possibility are encouraged to speak to Pastor Smith or to make their intentions known by filling out one of the Welcome cards found in the pews. Twice a year "New Member Forums" are held when Pastor Smith and members of the Diaconate meet with those who are interested in church membership and would like to become better acquainted with the church's history, basic beliefs, and organization.

AFFILIATION In 1961, the church's membership voted to join the United Church of Christ. The U.C.C. is a union of the Congregational Christian Churches and the Evangelical and Reformed Church which took place in 1957. It is one of the youngest denominations in America, yet with a background that makes it one of the oldest denominations in American Protestantism.
