Photograph taken aboard the USS FLOYD B. PARKS DD-884 while USS BOYD DD-544 was in tow. Joseph Leicht remarks regarding the towing of the USS Boyd by the USS Floyd B. Parks, This was on 14 July 1969, off the coast of California. I am not sure if the towing was performed as part of an exercise, as part of regular drills, or if there might of been damage to the Boyd's engines, there was no exterior or hull damage to the Boyd, and as I remember we released the tow towards evening. This operation may have been training for the Parks, as we went on a Viet Nam cruise about 2 weeks later.
