As most car enthusiasts know, it’s hard to beat the bang-for-the-buck performance value of the Ford Mustang.  Since 1992, I have owned a Mustang GT as a daily driver.  From 1992 to 1998 I drove a 1987 5-speed Mustang GT.  Then from 1998 to 2005, I drove a 1995 Mustang GT.  On December 30, I ordered a 2005 Mustang GT in this configuration:

·        2005 Premium Mustang GT

·        5-speed Manual Transmission

·        Screaming Yellow exterior;  Black Leather interior

·        Interior Upgrade Package (18G) – Aluminum dash trim, leather wheel, gauge package, message center

·        Active Anti-Theft (14A)

On March 21, 2005 it was delivered to the dealer and I picked it up.

·        Serialized (VIN assigned)………Feb 10, 2005

·        Build week……………………….Feb 28, 2005

·        Bucked…………………………...Mar   4, 2005

·        Convoy……………………………Mar  8, 2005

·        Delivered to Dealer……………...Mar 21, 2005

As of December 2008, I have owned the 2005 Mustang GT for 37K miles, and it has been the best car I have ever owned.  It has never been back to the dealer for a single problem.  Not even a minor issue.  I take care of the car, but I also drive it hard at times, including two track days at HPDE events:  Lime Rock Park in November 2007 and New Hampshire Motor Speedway in August 2008.

On November 18, 2007 I brought the Mustang to Lime Rock Park for an HPDE event.  Lime Rock is a race track in northwestern CT.  Details are on the News page.

The Mustang Source and its forums are the best place on the Internet for Mustang information.  I spend too much time there, but it’s the only way I kept my sanity while waiting for the ’05 Stang to be delivered…  oh well, I still had the ’95 to tide me over until then.
