Our introduction to racing came in the fall of 1991, with the purchase of a used
Margay straight up kart. We only had a few races before the cold weather set in to end the
season, but is was enough to get us hooked.
The spring came and we started racing on a road course at the Norwalk Kart Club. After a
month we moved on to the Tri State Kart Club in Pomfred, Connecticut. There track was
a 1/8 mile paved oval. We ran that track from 1992 till the spring of 1995. 1994 also
found us trying dirt track racing at Hi-Groove Speedway in New Hampshire.
1995 was a season of big changes We purchased a T&M Chassis offset kart and raced a
series at Stafford Motor Speedway in Stafford , Connecticut on a 1/5 mile oval (the
biggest track we had ever run on) and decided to try the WKA Speedway Pavement
National. It was a year of learning.
The 1996 season was a year to stay closer to home and we raced tracks around New
England and the WKA Northeast Divisional Pavement series in the restricted junior class.
In 1997 we purchased two new T&M offset karts to race restricted junior and junior stock
classes. We ran the Firestone Tire Series at Sugar Hill Speedway in New Hampshire and
the WKA Northeast Divisional Pavement series.
The 1998 season was a slowing down time. We ran only one class (restricted junior).
1999 started off with a win at Sugar Hill Speedway in there Spring Sizzler. Then it was time for the big move, we move up to the senior Stock Lite class and ran the WKA Northeast Pavement series.
