This is the Clan War page of Kakita Tsuruke.  Clan War is a miniatures game by AEG which is based on their Legend of the Five Rings setting (which also has its own CCG and RPG).  This page is primarily focused on matters of interest to players of the Crane Clan, however I will do my best to make all Rokugani feel comfortable during their stay here.  Enjoy.

DISCLAIMER:  I am in no way affiliated with AEG.  I'm not a playtester.  I'm not a 'Bounty Hunter.'  I'm not even that good at Clan War.  I'm just a reasonably creative individual with access to some technology and just a little bit too much free time...

I have added a WebTracker counter.  The cookie that it tries to set is for statistical tracking purposes.  I have no idea what other nefarious uses they might have for it, nor do I hold myself responsible.  Accept cookies at your own risk.  Unless they're homemade.  Peanut butter are the best, in my humble opinion.

Hits since 6/8/1999  (Hmm.  That's a cheetah head.  Have these halls been infiltrated by agents of the Matsu?)

If I tell you something that another has said more eloquently, then my breath is wasted, their honor is tarnished, and a precious moment is lost into the void.  Please seek wisdom in these places.
  • Kyuden Hida: The number one most valuable web-resource for Clan War.  Kuni Tetsu-sama maintains the official FAQ and Eratta here, as well as his own less official content such as anticipated product release scheudles, rumors and news, a comprehensive list of links, and even some tactical and painting advice.
  • Dojo no Daidoji: A great page dedicated to the Crane clan, with some cool tables for random scenario and terrain features, as well as pics of figures and battle reports.
  • Official Page of the Crane Clan: Limited Clan War information, but a great resource for information on the Crane Clan in general.  This page has moved and this is the updated link.
  • Walls of the Kaiu: A page with tactics and battle reports, including very cool narrative accounts of the battle from the point of view of a fictional observer on the ground. Unfortunately this page seems to have gone a while without an update.
  • Alderac Entertainment Group: Manufacturers of Clan War and publishers of the L5R Roleplaying Game.
  • Five Rings Publishing Group: Makers of the Legend of the Five Rings CCG.
  • Asahina Temple Archives: A great source of background information on all the factions in the L5R setting, and also includes a lot of storyline related information.
  • The Shinjo Parade Grounds: A very nicely laid-out page which promises information on Clan War as well as RPG and CCG related information for L5R, and a section titled 'Tales from the Emerald Empire' which I presume will include fiction and clan letters and such.  The page is Unicorn themed, but seems to be aimed at all clans.  This site has recently moved but I believe I have the most up-to-date link.
  • The mystery behind Chinese Characters: Not very clan-war specific at all, but when I checked out the section on Pictograms, I realized the characters used for Moon, Sun, and Water, in L5R were not Japansese kanji as I had previously thought...  Interesting site.

Updates:

04/21/2000: Desperate Journey update: I have added force profile and tactical card lists for my Desperate Journey army as well as photos of the army and of my Daidoji Iron Warrior unit which won Best Painted Unit at the Citadel event in Groton, CT.  I have also added a photo of Bayushi Kachiko to the Gallery.
03/14/2000: Made some minor cosmetic changes to page layout.  And I seem to have broken 2000 hits!
02/18/2000: I finally got access to a digital camera, and added the mighty Water Dragon to the Gallery.
01/10/2000: Updated the Official Crane site link.
10/25/1999: For the convenience of my playtesters, I have posted the most updated version of the in-progress revision of the Campaign Rules
10/23/1999: Added the promised scans of Ishikawa and Isawa Tomo to the Galleries, and as a bonus I bring you Kakita Shura.  (The previously advertised Water Dragon is still waiting for me to solve the camera problem.  One thing at a time.)
10/22/1999: Updated a couple links and Reformatted the gallery pages using tables, in preperation for the addition of a handful of new scans.  Keep your eyes open for Seppun Ishikawa, Isawa Tomo, and if I ever get my hands on a camera, the mighty Water Dragon.  ALSO: keep your eyes open for a fairly major revision to the Campaign rules.  I am starting a playtest campaign and am revising some of the rules as well as the map.  I am most excited about the Experience rules which allow troops and personalities to improve as they survive battles.
10/05/1999: Added scans of the 'real' Isawa Osugi (not the chick with the crane in her hair from 'Phoenix' personalities blister number 3), and Daidoji Sonoko, Crane Clan Commando.
9/8/1999: Added a Miscellaneous section to the Gallery and put up a few new scans.
7/6/1999: Reformatted the Armies and Battles page.  Wrote up a new Battle Report and posted some army lists as well.  Also added Shinjo Jon's L5R CW Code to the bottom of this page.
6/15/1999: Added the chinese characters link
6/13/1999: Added a scan of Doji Hoturi to the Crane Personalities Gallery
6/6/1999: Well it's been forever since i've actually played, but I've been painting.  I've done a small conversion on my Matsu Gohei and created a Crane personality.  I thought maybe he could be Daidoji Sonoko, but I'm open for suggestions.  Check him out and then Email Me
5/10/1999: Major updates to the Galleries.  Added scans of Crane Personalities and troops, as well as some Phoenix models and one of my Kenku.
4/17/1999: Added two battle summaries to Armies and Battles, and added reviews several units and personalities, based on those battles, to Units and Tactics
4/7/1999: Posted the beginnings of my Campaign Rules and made some minor updates to the Chambers of the Shiba Emissary
3/31/1999: Added pics of 4 of my finished figures.  Check them out at the Gallery
3/29/1999: Made some updates to the the Homebrew section.  Keep your eyes open for playtest results of the Kenku, and also for Campaign rules and RPG crossover rules.
3/24/1999: Added the Phoenix clan sub-page, Chambers of the Shiba Emissary
3/23/1999: Added my fourth battle report to Armies and Tactics
3/21/1999: Updated the Units and Tactics page.  Keep your eyes open for the addition of my fourth battle report to the Armies and Battles page.
3/16/1999: I finally got my Crane Army Expansion today!  Once I have a chance to learn them, the Flight rules will definitely necessitate some modifications to my homebrew Kenku
