Ornate Bradley & Hubbard Inkstand

This double inkstand is fine example of the "ormolu" or gold-like plated cast iron inkstands made by Bradley and Hubbard of Meriden, CT. The ornate letter/blotter holder was bolted on to the base, and was used with other base and reservoir designs as a production process cost control measure. The rectangular reservoir bottles with separate lids are unusual, as the majority of these designs used bottles with cylindrical symmetry.
