Activities:  The Great Outdoors
Karen: We thoroughly enjoy outdoor activities including canoeing / kayaking, hiking, going for long walks, swimming, biking, badminton, and occasionally snorkeling (in warm, clear water).  In addition to the fun sporting activities, we can often be found gardening, landscaping or taking a break to have a picnic.  Bill also enjoys many different sporting activities.  He looks forward to playing baseball/ softball, soccer, and basketball with children.  I know I'll play soccer (as I did in high school) and maybe even try a little basketball --I'll give those UConn ladies some competition… :  )

Bill: I was actively involved in Little League baseball and Cub Scouts as a child.  In high school I rowed on the crew team.  I will encourage our children to participate in activities of their choosing and to explore new activities that might interest them.  I look forward to attending their events and showing my support.  My parents’ participation in my activities were very important to me.

Karen: I fondly remember being in Girl Scouts.  At one point my mom was our troop leader.  We had a lot of fun learning different crafts and making new friends.  I also took dance lessons and thoroughly enjoyed ballet and tap dancing.  It was a great experience to participate in a dance group and to be on stage in a dance pageant.  I hope to instill a sense of belonging in our children when it comes to group involvement, but also to teach them to find a comfortable balance with activities.  We would rather our child be involved with a couple quality activities and still have time to be a kid.
