A Conversation with Karen & Bill

Our Family

Bill: We are very happy that we moved back to Connecticut to be close to our exceptionally loving and supportive family. Fortunately, our parents and most siblings live within a half-hour drive. We celebrate holidays and birthdays together and at least twice a year we host a large family gathering where everyone on both sides of the family comes together. Our extended family gets along very well and enjoys each other's company. We are certain that each member of our family will welcome a new child into our family just as if the child were born to us.

My family includes my Mom & Dad, two sisters and their spouses, Gretchen & Stu, and Beth & Frank. We have several educators in both our families. My Mom is a middle school teacher's assistant. She is very kind-hearted, loving and considerate. Dad is a newly retired power plant supervisor. He is always there to lend a helping hand to others. I really appreciate this when I need help working on some of the large projects around the house that are too big for Karen's assistance. Gretchen is an elementary school teacher, who is full of enthusiasm and excitement, perfect for the 3^rd grade she teaches (and for the children who enter our family). Stu is a project engineer; he is very thoughtful, intelligent and easy-going. We are pleased to have Stu as the most recent addition to our family. Beth & Frank are both bilingual (English/Spanish) elementary school teachers. They currently live in California, but we hope they return next year, since Beth is pregnant and we all want to be part of their new baby's life. Beth is an extremely compassionate and dynamic person. Frank is also a great guy - very fun-loving and caring.
