OMNI finishes fifth!
Buffalo
NY - OMNI finishes fifth overall at the Speedo Eastern Sectional Meet
in Buffalo. Michael McLean, men’s high
point winner for the weekend, qualified for US Summer Nationals in the 400
meter freestyle. On his way to high
point honors, Mike won the 200, 400 and 1500
freestyle. He set team records
in 200, 400, 1500, 400 IM and 100 backstroke and meet records in the 200 and
400 freestyle events as well as a resident record for 17/18 boys in the same
event. Liz Swartwout was second in the
200 IM and set a new team record and Kevin Norman was also runner-up in 1500,
respectively. Dan Vitagliano set a new
CT resident record in the 400 freestyle for 15/16 boys. Steven Marcucio cracked the top three in the
100 breaststroke and was fourth in the 200, both swims set new team
records. The 800 freestyle relay team
of Jamie Lamere, Kevin Norman, Dan Vitagliano and Mike McLean finished second
while setting a new team record and the 400 Medley team of Mike McLean, Steve
Marcucio, David Cohen and Dan Vitagliano finished third and also set a new team
record. Overall OMNI had 1 Senior
National cut, won three events, finished runner-up in four others, set 2 CT
resident records, two meet record and 10 team records.
