McLean wins high point at the Speedo Championships
OMNI
finishes 12th at 2001
LC Speedo Championship in Buffalo, New York. Michael McLean was the men’s individual high point award on his
way to runner-up positions in the 200
and 800 freestyle, 200 backstroke and 400 IM.
He also set OMNI team records in all the aforementioned events including
the 400 freestyle and CT resident records in the 400 and 800 freestyle. Laura O’Brien was 3rd in the 1500
freestyle and set an OMNI team record in the 400 IM while Kevin was 5th
in the1500 freestyle.
Lamere wins qualifies for Sectionals in three events
At
the 2001 CT
LSC Championship, OMNI finishes 5th in the Senior age
group. Jamie Lamere finished a
runner-up to teammate Matt Crowley in the Distance High point competition. Jamie swam to Speedo Championship qualifying
times in the 400, 800, 1500 freestyle while winning all three. Jeremy Virgil also achieved a Speedo
Championship COT in the 800 freestyle and won the 200 butterfly. Dana Helyer, runner-up by two points in the
women’s high point competition, won the 100 butterfly. Caitlin Crowley, Helen Dembinski and Karen
Brudvig achieved CT Senior COT’s for the first time and Matt McLean was
runner-up in the 50 butterfly.
