Duties as defined by the by-laws:
How that is accomplished: write checks for salaries, utilities, committee expenditures, and benevolence; reconcile accounts each month; transfer funds from savings to checking to meet disbursement needs; monitor compliance with local state and federal laws related to finances; maintain accounting records including monthly reports to Council; occasional consultation with investment company representative. How that is accomplished: establish church school policy, hands-on support for church school, nursery and activity time, sponsor intergenerational activities, sponsor adult learning activities, participate in whole church events and fundraisers, sponsor whole church events and fundraisers, make recommendations for church school curriculum, and review proposals brought to Christian Education by other boards and committees. Cooperative efforts with other boards include Mission, Deacons (for annual evaluation of Director) and Business Committee (for general maintenance of church school area.) Members should have an interest in spiritual development of children and adults and an interest (not necessarily experience) in education.
