Capes - Cape parrots are the largest of the Poicephalus group. Known as the "Gentle Giants". They have a wonderful, easygoing, clown-like disposition and make wonderful pets for the whole family. Capes have the ability to learn a large vocabulary and yet have a quiet manor about them. The Cape Parrot weighs 320 to 400 grams and measures approximately 13 inches in length. They are sexually dimorphic with the hen retaining the orange on her head.

Caiques - The two species of Caiques are the Black-Headed and the White-Bellied. These birds are very colorful and make excellent companions. Not only are they very playful and often found rolling on their backs, but they are adept at mimicking sounds. Their most endearing traits are their curiosity and comical nature. Caiques are 8 to 9 inches long and weigh 150 to 170 grams. Of the two species, the White-Bellied is the rarer.

Cockatiels - Next to the Budgie, this is the most popular of the hookbills. The Cockatiel is gentle, fairly quiet, and bonds easily with its owners. It can also be taught to talk and possesses a fairly easy going, quiet disposition. Cockatiels come in a variety of mutations. Such as Latino, pied, pearl, cinnamon, whiteface and different combinations of these. Hand-fed Cockatiels make great family pets. As a general rule, the males are more vocal and outgoing while the females are gentle and quiet.
