WEDNESDAY, JUNE 15

This was supposed to be the big day. We hired a bus to take us to Boston. The highlite of the trip was to go on a "Whale Watch" for which we already had reservations. The bus ride was pretty good except for the door that kept opening. Carole Harmon made sure the driver knew where he was going. When we arrived in Boston, we had a nice lunch at a bar near Fanuel Hall. Unfortunately, due to the lousy weather, the "Whale Watch" was cancelled. It was so cold, many of us bought sweatshirts to stay warm. We decided to have the bus driver take us to the "USS Constitution". As it turned out most of us had a good time on the oldest ship in the United States Navy. After a little sightseeing from the bus, we headed back to Highland Lake in Connecticut. We did take a few photos in Boston as you can see.

A Cold But Happy Group!

The evening was spent at the lake facility. We ordered pizza from Kent Pizza in Winsted and washed it down with a few drinks. This was the night that we found out what the first impressions of Carole Harmon and Joann Reents were when they first met some of us at our reunion in Branson, MO in 1998. I guess we were fine as they still come to the reunions and the rest of us are sure happy about that. This was also the night that we paid tribute to our very good friends "Jimmy and Tom". We sure miss them very much and some indicated to me that the reunion was not the same without them. There is no doubt about that, but hopefully their memory will make our bond stronger.
